OUR PHILOSOPHY

At Astra Education Group, we believe that children begin their learning journey from the moment they are born. The years from birth to eight years old are fundamental in establishing a child’s sense of identity, value and wellbeing. But what they learn in their first few years of life — and how they learn it — does more than just help them navigate childhood, it establishes much of their future success and wellbeing.


We will develop each child’s sense of “Being, Belonging and Becoming” ensuring that we cover the five learning outcomes of The Early Years Learning Framework. 


We will support this by providing play spaces of natural and manufactured materials that are reflective of the world, the community, the child, the family, imaginary and the creative. Our holistic and flexible educational programs focus on children’s interests, individual strengths and learning through play. Our educators will guide and support children’s learning through an emergent curriculum, they will provide time, space and resources for children to discover, explore and engage. 


We understand that families and their culture are the first and most imperative teachers in each child’s life. We aim to be respectful and supportive of families, endeavouring to build collaborative partnerships with them and the wider community.


We embrace the importance of diversity within the community and the entire world.  We strive to reflect diversity throughout our centres, in our programming and practice.  We believe that all children should be treated with equity, and their culture embraced and recognized.

Our mission is to raise the bar of early childhood education by ensuring all centres provide exceptional quality care and education and create a culture of continuous learning for both

children and our team of dedicated educators. We aim to provide an excellent, quality service to all customers through the expertise of our Board and Management team.

OUR VISION

To create and maintain a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment for all children, families, and employees which promotes social/emotional competence as a foundation for developing the whole child. Our values are based on putting children at the centre of everything we do. Our organisational focus is on how we can improve outcomes for children who attend each of our centres. At its heart, our purpose is to make quality education and care accessible for all families. We recognise that every child, family, and community is unique, which meaningfully shapes the way we deliver our services.

In order to act as an educator for the child, the environment has to be flexible: it must undergo frequent modification by the children and teachers in order to remain up-to-date and responsive to their needs to be protagonists in constructing their knowledge.
